Jon Gibson composed The Storyteller album between 2005 and 2007 as a tribute to the life of his father Stan Gibson, who passed away in 2005. It was independently released in 2012. Online distributors made the album available online with a flaw; The audio on the song "I'm a Storyteller" cuts out after about 40 seconds. However, this is the complete version of the original master recording.

Soulful hymns were recorded much in the same way as Love Education and on the same gear. The only difference is that the half-inch masters were transferred into Pro Tools and digitally mixed by master engineer Bill Esses. And again, like Love Education, it's a great-sounding cassette. Soulful Hymns was inspired when Jon worked with the one-and-only Bernard Wright who's soulful renditions of classic hymns, really inspired Jon to record something similar. Jon recorded Soulful Hymns and released it independently in 2001 as a tribute to his talented new friend Bernard Wright.

The Love Eduducation cassette is a pure, and uncut analog recording from top to bottom. The album was recorded on Ampex 456, 2-inch, 24 track reels, recorded on an old Harrison console, mixed down to a Teac half-inch reel to reel, only to be mastered on a vintage 70's Pioneer stereo system. If you have a good cassette player, then you are in for a real treat. Many believe that Love Education is Jon's best album ever recorded and it may be, but it is definitely, his most eclectic creation to date.

After a three year hiatus caused by the Solar/Warner dispute, Jon's then manager helps Jon secure the rights to Standing on the One from Solar. Jon remixes five of the tracks from Standing on the One, and adds five new tracks with a new album cover and independently releases it under a new title On The Run. The record is unique as it features some guitar work by then up and coming guitarist Joe Satriani. The album would render Jon's 1st number one C.C.M. song God Love's a Broken Heart.
